Ad Code Scam on TikTok:

Turn Off These Two Settings or Lose Your Commissions

Scammers are using the “ad code” trick to hijack TikTok Shop affiliate links. They run your video, swap your product links, and collect your commissions. TikTok’s default settings can make this possible unless you change them now.


The leak

  • Affiliate Product Change Authorization — allows others to change products tied to your content. Leave it on, and your link can be replaced.
  • Anchor Authorization — allows others to tag their products under your videos. You push a $20 item, they tag a $200 one, and take the payout.

Fix it in under a minute

  1. Open your TikTok Creator or Shop settings.
  2. Find Affiliate Product Change Authorization. Turn it off.
  3. Find Anchor Authorization. Turn it off.
  4. Share your ad code only for clear terms or a fee. No free access to your revenue path.

Protect your links

  • Require written terms for collaborations.
  • Do not grant third-party product tagging rights.
  • Check your affiliate dashboard after every collab to confirm clicks, orders, and GMV are yours.
