TikTok LIVE Policy: Static Imagery and Low-Quality Content

Violation Scope:

Information on static imagery with low visual quality (the “Violative LIVE”) can be found in the “Rules and Guidance” section of the TikTok app.

When producing LIVE content, LIVE creators SHOULD NOT solely display static or non-interactive images.

Such content may be ineligible for the For You feed. This includes:

Static, text-based or motionless images;

Poorly illuminated LIVE without a visible subject or object;

Fixed footage filming a static subject, object, or outdoors

Please be aware that these examples do not cover everything.

To follow this policy, we suggest LIVE creators create content that contains visible movements and verbal communication or interactive activities in real time. Interactive activities require or trigger in-frame engagement and interaction from the creator and/or the viewers, including non-verbal activities with visible movement, like:

Facial gestures, such as smiling;

Body gestures, such as waving and dancing;

Moveable activities, such as cooking, motion filming,etc.

If using static images is part of the planned content for LIVE, make sure to interact visually or through other engaging means.
